Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ: NFLX) is the world's largest online movie rental service, with more than 10 million subscribers. Established in 1997 and headquartered in Los Gatos, California, Netflix has amassed a collection of 100,000 titles and approximately 10 million subscribers. The national call center is located in Hillsboro, Oregon.
The company has more than 55 million discs and, on average, ships 2 million DVDs to customers each day. On April 2, 2009, the company announced that it had mailed its two billionth DVD, and awarded the recipient with a complimentary lifetime membership. It topped the ForeSee Results' Top 100 Online Retail Satisfaction Index with an American Customer Satisfaction Index score of 86, well over the industry average of 75.
Members instantly watch unlimited movies and TV episodes streamed to their TVs and computers and can receive unlimited DVDs delivered quickly to their homes. Netflix members exchange DVDs as often as they want using a postage-paid return envelope. Members can choose from a vast selection of DVD titles and a growing library of movies and TV episodes that can be watched instantly.
They are partnering with leaders in consumer electronics to bring to market a range of devices that can instantly stream movies and TV episodes from Netflix directly to members' TVs. These devices currently include Blu-ray disc players and new Internet TVs from LG Electronics; Blu-ray disc players from Samsung; the Roku digital video player; Microsoft's Xbox 360 game console; TiVo digital video recorders; and, soon, Internet TVs from Sony and VIZIO.
Netflix is different from other call centers. They are a non scripted work environment with no selling or collecting on accounts. The goal is efficient, consistent, and effective customer interactions.
Their Hillsboro call center is currently hiring full-time customer service representatives. Netflix is seeking to hire college graduates with a talent for friendly problem solving.
