Student Services
Advising & Support
The English Language Institute (ELI) is part of the Office of International Programs. The Office of International Programs offers a wide variety of support programs for the international students on campus. Staff members can help with academic advising, immigration questions, cultural adjustment, and personal concerns. A staff member is on-call 24 hours a day in case of emergencies.
The office is located on the first floor of Scott Hall. We are open to serve students weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (including the lunch hour). Evening appointments are also available upon request.

Testing
Institutional TOEFL (Paper-based Test)
The English Language Institute offers an Institutional (PBT) TOEFL seven times per year. The cost is $30, and students must register five weeks before the test dates. This test provides practice in many of the skills required for the iBT TOEFL and also provides the ELI information on how students' English language proficiencies are developing in order to place them in the appropriate levels of instruction. Scores on the Pacific Institutional TOEFL are accepted for undergraduate admission at Pacific University.
