In the Pacific University College of Optometry, world-renowned faculty and diverse clinical sites prepare tomorrow’s doctors of optometry.

The College of Optometry offers a doctor of optometry program and residency programs in multiple specialties. We also offer a master of science in vision science program, and a PhD in vision science program that prepare students for teaching and/or research in the ophthalmic industry.

We partner with other Pacific University colleges to provide other opportunities for master degrees:

Master of Education/Visual Function in Learning program within the College of Education. This is designed to provide specialized study to qualify the optometrist as an education vision consultant.

Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management within the College of Business. This is designed for working healthcare professionals, the Pacific MBA with a healthcare management track will develop your business skills for a career in healthcare administration.

The college also has a strong tradition of providing continuing education to help optometric physicians meet their requirements for license renewal. Optometrists can earn continuing education credits in person at our annual conferences or online.

At Pacific, teaching is our first priority. Our optometry faculty lecture and publish worldwide, but teaching is at the center of their practice. Our programs provide a firm foundation in basic and clinical sciences, as well as significant hands-on experience in serving diverse populations of patients.

The College of Optometry operates EyeClinics and EyeTrends opticals throughout the Portland area. The eye clinics give students the chance to practice their skills and serve their community. Our students also are involved in outreach locally through our community partners and schools. Students have the opportunity to provide outreach around the world through our partnership with AMIGOS eyecare (Student VOSH).
