3:30-5:00 PM Awards & Commencement Rehearsal
Taylor-Meade Performing Arts Center, McCready Hall

All graduating seniors from the College of Arts & Sciences are encouraged to meet in preparation for Commencement.  Please join in celebrating your fellow graduates as they receive awards.  Awards are given for the outstanding students in departments, divisions, and programs of the College.  Graduates who are participating in the Commencement Ceremony are required to attend the rehearsal to hear instructions regarding the processional and seating arrangements.  The Faculty Marshal of the College of Arts & Sciences will read each graduate's name. This is an opportunity to ensure that your name will be pronounced correctly.

5:00 PM Senior Stroll / Salute
Walk through campus to the Mlky Way

Seniors are invited to join fellow classmates and current faculty and staff on the "Senior Stroll" across campus.  This final walk through campus to remember and reflect on the student experience will culminate at the Milky Way where the Senior Salute will be held.  The stroll begins at Taylor-Meade Performing Arts Center immediately following the College of Arts & Sciences Awards and Rehearsal event.

3:30-4:30 PM Baccalaureate

Baccalaureate is a pre-commencement cermony for all Pacific University graduates to celebrate this rite of passage.  Students have the opportunity to offer their own unique gifts to share with the community as the class moves through this transition.  Baccalaureate typically combines dance, choral and instrumental music, poetry, and readings from a wide variety of traditions -- all presented by the graduates themselves.  It can be both a time of reflection as well as a time to look toward the future.  After the ceremony, graduates are invited to join the President at Old College Hall to signify leaving the University by ringing the bell and signing the Book of Remembrance, just as was done upon entering Pacific.

If you are interested in serving on the planning committee or have something you would like to present or perform at the program, please contact Julie Murray-Jensen in the Student Life Office at 503-352-2120, or juliemj@pacificu.edu.
