Disabled Seating
There will be a disabled seating section. This reserved seating is limited and is only available for the individual needing assistance and two escorts. If you wish to make a reservation for disabled seating, please contact Ingrid Unterseher in the Student Office at 503-352-2212.
Home Town Press Release
Following Commencement, the Office of Marketing & Communications send a press release to the hometown newspaper of graduating Pacific students. It includes the name of the student, degree received, and other pertinent information. To ensure the correct newspaper publishes your graudation information, pick up a Hometown Release Form from the University Relations office on the third floor of Marsh Hall. If you do not wish the information to be published, please indicate that on the form.
Photography
The Picture Man will photograph each graduate as he/she receives a diploma from President Creighton. To order and view your photo, go to www.gradphoto.com or call The Picture Man at 1-800-211-0434.
Caps & Gowns / Announcments
Graduates participating in the Commencement Ceremony must wear academic regalia. You will be able to purchase your regalia at the Countdown to Graduation event on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 in the University Center Fireside Lounge. Caps and Gowns ordered after March 28, 2008 will have a $15 late fee charge. If you have questions about ordering and purchasing regalia, please call the Pacific University Bookstore at 503-352-2224.
Degree Requirements
College of Arts & Sciences
After you Apply for Graduation, the Registrar's Office will send you an e-mail if there are any steps still needing attention before you can graduate. Be sure to respond to that notice immediately. Students who have taken courses at other institutions should be certain that official transcripts are sent to the Registrar's Office by April 15, 2008. Please contact the Registrar's Office immediately if you are currently taking courses at another institution to complete your degree. Call JoLynn Graham at 503-352-2292 if you have any questions.
Professional Programs
After you Apply for Graduation, the Registrar's Office will review your graduation requirements and contact your program director if there are questions. You will be hearing from your director if there are any unresolved issues. If you have any questions, contact Allison Seavey at 503-352-2776.
Student Accounts
Be sure to stop by the Business Office during Spring semester and check your account. All accounts must be paid in full for you to receive your diploma and transcripts.
Student Loans
For those students who received federal student loans, you will be contacted by the Financial Aid Office regarding exit interviews that must be completed before you graduate or leave campus.
The Career Development Center
Services include:
- individual career planning sessions
- assistance with applying to graduate and professional programs
- internship and job postings
- access to Alumni Career Network and networking opportuniities
- workshops and programs on job search and preparing for graduate and professional programs
- recruiting events, such as First Avenue Career and Graduate School Fair on April 3 at University of Portland

Accomodations for Out-of-Town Guests
Start thinking about making hotel and travel arrangements for your family and guests who may wish to attend the ceremony. Limited overnight accommodations are available in Forest Grove. In addition, there are a number of hotels and motels in Hillsboro, Beaverton and Portland that are within driving distance of the Forest Grove campus.
