I-20, student will be charged shipping costs. For students who live in the following countries, we send I-20 by regular airmail at no charge: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden and Taiwan.

For all other countries, express mail shipping of I-20 is required, at students’ expense.


US Student Visa Instructions

After you apply to Pacific University and are accepted, we will send you an official acceptance letter and a US Immigration Form I-20. After you receive your I-20, apply for your student visa at the US Embassy in your home country.

To Get Your F-1 Student Visa Follow These 3 Steps

STEP 1
Make a Visa Appointment at the US Embassy or Consulate in Your Country.


Please do this step immediately after receiving your I-20. Telephone or visit the US
Embassy website to make the appointment. You may need to wait several weeks for this appointment. You will need to give your SEVIS ID number to make this appointment. Your SEVIS ID number is located at the top of your I-20 (it begins "N000"). 
 
STEP 2

Pay Your US$200 SEVIS FEE (I-901) Online.

 
Please do this step immediately after receiving your I-20.This is not a school fee. It is a US Government fee. Please go to: www.fmjfee.com and follow the directions. It will ask for your SEVIS ID number. Your SEVIS ID number is located at the top of your I-20 (it begins "N000").  You will need to pay this fee before you visit the US Embassy or Consulate.
Be sure to print a copy of your 1-901 receipt and take it to your visa appointment.
 
STEP 3

Go to Your Visa Appointment.

 
You should bring your I-20, your I-901 fee receipt, your passport, the DS-156 Visa
Application (https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp) and your original financial documents to this appointment. If you will enter an undergraduate or graduate program, bring proof of your English proficiency. Be sure to learn the details of Pacific University. Explain details of your study plan. Explain why your education in the US will help you when you return to your home country. Explain why you will return to your home country after you finish studying.

Please Take These 7 Things to Your Visa Interview Appointment at the U.S. Embassy:
  • Your I-20 and acceptance letter from Pacific University
  • Your I-901 receipt
  • Your original bank statement (and affidavit of support if necessary)
  • Your passport
  • Your visa application form DS-156 (and DS-157 if necessary)
  • Proof of your English ability, if available (such as test scores or school transcripts)
  • Any brochures about Pacific University that you have
