Students who complete the IB Diploma with a score of 30 or higher will receive the following benefits:
IB Achievement Scholarship
A renewable four-year scholarship of $3,000 per year will be awarded. Students will also automatically be considered for other Pacific University awards provided they meet application deadlines. The combination of institutional scholarships and grants may not exceed the total cost of tuition and fees.
Sophomore Standing
Students will be granted sophomore standing (30 credit hours). Please note, Pacific University is transitioning from a 3-credit system to a 4-credit system, at which time 32 credits will be granted to give students sophomore standing.
Priority Housing
Students who submit their housing application before May 1 will receive priority placement in the residence halls.
Study Abroad and International Experience Programs
Pacific University will provide IB Diploma recipients with customized workshops focused on their international interests and needs, and help match them with a Pacific University study abroad progam or international internship.
Personalize Advising and Support
In addition to academic advising, IB Diploma recipients will also recieve support in preparing applications for prestigious awards such as the Fulbright Student Program.
Membership into the Deans' Reading Group
Deans of the College will recommend a reading list and host dinners to gather and discuss the books.
