Pacific University Named One of West's Most Supportive Colleges for Veterans

Pacific University was named one of the West’s most supportive schools for military veterans by MilitarySupportiveColleges.com, a coalition of web publishers that provides guidance to veterans seeking college information.

Pacific was one of three private institutions in Oregon that was highlighted for its full commitment to the Yellow Ribbon program, in which colleges cover tuition costs for veterans when G.I. The program applies to graduate as well as undergraduate programs.

Pacific has a team of people who work across departments to make sure eligible military veterans can attend the university. U.S. News & World Report also singled out Pacific, designating it the only private university in Oregon on its list of best colleges for veterans.

Denise Giesbers, the university’s co-coordinator of veterans services, said Pacific has “made amazing strides” in working to support student veterans in its undergraduate and graduate school programs.
