Director of Leadership and Community Engagement, Rural Development Initiatives
Areas I Teach

Christine Gilmore is the Director of Leadership and Community Engagement for Rural Development Initiatives. Rural Development Initiatives (RDI) strengthens rural people, places, and economies in the Pacific Northwest. RDI provides on-the-ground leadership development and adaptive technical assistance as communities imagine new possibilities, face new challenges, and diversify their services. Christine has served in the nonprofit sector for 15+ years, helping organizations balance the need for bold entrepreneurial initiatives with fiscally conservative practices while expanding mission and vision. Christine works to build the capacity of on-the-ground leaders, organizations, communities, and networks so they can collaborate on complex rural issues. She has a deep passion for making change and elevating communities through the empowerment of people.

Christine lives in Moscow, Idaho with her husband and 2 children (and at the writing of this bio Christine is expecting her 3rd child who will join the family in mid-May). She is an active member of the Moscow community and currently serves on the Latah County Community Foundation board helping to support the rural nonprofits of the county.
