In July 2023, Dr. Nathan Doctor joined our faculty team here at a Pacific University School of Pharmacy. Now that one full semester has gone by and we're now mid-way through spring semester, we thought we'd catch up with him, ask him a few questions and find out how things are going!
We believe that international experiences help our Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students at Pacific University School of Pharmacy develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to broaden their horizons related to differences in healthcare between the U.S. and other countries, immerse in a different culture and language, and explore understandings of health, thus providing them an invaluable opportunity to grow as global healthcare professionals. 
Pacific University School of Pharmacy Experiential Education team has been working with the Northwest Experiential Consortium to update the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) Evaluation tool. The consortium is made up of seven Schools and Colleges of Pharmacy including University of Washington, Washington State, Idaho State, University of Wyoming, Oregon State, and University of Montana.
Pacific University's Reconciliation Powwow 2024 will take place on May 4. Please save the date and consider contributing to this important event.

Pacific University's first Spirit of Civic Engagement Summit is taking place on Saturday, April 6, and an amazing lineup of speakers have been confirmed. Space is limited and attendance is by invitation only. Nominate yourself of others by March 24.
This school year, Pacific University School of Pharmacy’s American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapter focused on community outreach by providing blood pressure and blood glucose screenings at events in the community. The first event this school year was at the Downtown Hillsboro Farmers Market where the chapter screened 21 individuals.
Several Pacific University faculty members have earned indefinite tenure and/or promotions in rank. Recommendations for rank promotions and tenure status come from college and department personnel committees, then are reviewed and recommended by the University Personnel Committee, the provost and the president of the university.
Kristen Thomas is an alum of Pacific University’s dental hygiene program, graduating in 2010. She then worked as a clinical restorative dental hygienist for several years in a managed care organization before pursuing a career in education.
With a doctorate in educational leadership from Portland State University, Stephanie Stokamer has taught in and administered undergraduate and graduate community-based learning programs since 2005. Her scholarship focuses on civic engagement and experiential learning, particularly with respect to pedagogical practices and faculty development.
Josephine Ragolia joined the Pacific University Libraries faculty as an assistant professor and Student Success Librarian in July 2018. In that role, she developed and directed the undergraduate unit of the Center for Learning and Student Success (CLASS) and taught introductory information literacy sessions, helping undergraduate students learn to locate and assess reliable sources for their research.
