Pacific Earns Regional Communication Awards

The Pacific University Office of Marketing & Communications has received three honors for recent communication campaigns and collateral supporting the advancement of the university.

Pacific received one bronze and two merit awards from the CASE Region VIII Communication Awards. CASE, the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, is the professional association serving advancement professionals in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas. Region VIII, the largest North American district, encompasses all of the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada.

Pacific University received the following honors in the peer-reviewed judging:

Bronze Award
Legends 2015 confirmation, credentials and auction packet

Legends, hosted by Tommy Thayer, is the university’s signature fundraiser for athletics. The 2015 event exceeded its goals in support of the new video scoreboard at Hanson Stadium. Collateral for the event was developed by Marketing & Communications staff members Alex Bell ’12, Joyce Gabriel and Jenni Luckett, along with former staff member Parrish Evans ’11 and student photographer Stacie Struble ’15.

Pacific magazine serves an audience of alumni, donors, parents, students, employees and friends with a rich collection of stories, photos and online extras in support of the university mission. It is produced by staff members Jenni Luckett, Alex Bell ’12, Joyce Gabriel and Shannon Wilson.

Integrated Marketing Strategy, Year 6

The integrated marketing strategy provides a framework for all university marketing and advertising, generating awareness of Pacific throughout the Northwest and informing targeted student-recruitment marketing on a program-by-program basis. The merit award recognizes Marketing & Communications staff members Alex Bell ’12, Mark Burnet, Joyce Gabriel, Ben Griffin ’11 and Jenni Luckett, along with former staffer Parrish Evans ’11, for the design and effectiveness of Pacific’s flagship marketing campaign.

Pacific has earned previous honors for its communications collateral through the CASE Awards. In 2015, Marketing & Communications earned a silver award for a recruitment video and bronze awards for the university’s new website and for its Faculty Friday social media campaign. In 2014, the Integrated Marketing Strategy, Year 4, won a bronze award. And in 2013, Pacific earned a gold award for its student recruitment webpages and a bronze for its annual report.
