With more than 25 years of experience as an occupational therapy practitioner, manager, and consultant within a variety of rehabilitation, outpatient and community settings that spans four continents, Tiffany Boggis brings to the School of Occupational Therapy a complementary mix of clinical expertise, business prowess, international perspectives and teaching experiences. Having had students by her side throughout most of her career, and having taught in a variety of environments both nationally and internationally, Tiffany promotes a collaborative learning and teaching environment. Applying her business background with occupational therapy (OT) practice, she is consistently engaged in developing new occupational therapy and interprofessional programs within organizations and the community with an aim to promote the health and well being of marginalized populations, who may not be able to otherwise receive health services.
Given Tiffany’s specific expertise in neuro-rehabilitation, dysphagia management, hand therapy, return to work programming and student fieldwork supervision, primarily with adult and older adult populations, Tiffany enthusiastically supports delivery of this content within the curriculum. With the onset of health care reform in the USA comes emerging opportunities for occupational therapy practice. Tiffany collaborates with her OT professional associations and the State legislature to help assure that the profession of OT is a recognized and valued profession in the emerging areas of primary care, telehealth, behavioral health, and habilitative services. Tiffany's scholarly work and practice is further dedicated to the development of interprofessional learning opportunities for students, designed to promote cultural sensitivity and global awareness, pre-requisite skills needed for health professional graduates to assume innovative leadership roles in healthcare for a diverse global community.
Tiffany has a passion for novelty and adventure. Her reflective side balances the side of her that seeks high adventure. Her general curiosity and personal engagement in diverse life occupations support her role as academic faculty member, mentor, and community service provider. She lives by the motto “one never works a day in ones life if one does what they love and love what they do.” Tiffany loves what she does.
